2021 Mahi Tahi Award, Driver of the Year, and Employee of the Year Recipients

2021 Employee of the Year Award: Jan Swanepoel
The employee-voted award recognises someone who has best upheld the Johnstone Construction Values of Ngākau Pono (Integrity), Titikaha (commitment) and Mahi Tihi (Team Work). Johnstone Construction is pleased to announce Construction Projects Manager, Jan Swanepoel as the 2021 Employee of the Year. The award reflects his significant contributions to Johnstone Construction and the impact he has had across the workplace during 2021.

2021 Mahi Tahi Award: Jennie Jiang
The Mahi Tahi award recognises an employee who demonstrates exceptional teamwork through their ability to support other team members, other companies and contractors they interact with. In recognition of her dedication to upholding the Johnstone Construction value of Mahi Tahi, Quantity Surveyor Jennie Jiang is the 2021 recipient of the Mahi Tahi Award. The award reflects Jennie’s ability to engage with both the site and office teams whilst having to work remotely during Covid-19 restrictions, while also contributing to making Johnstone Construction a positive place to work.

2021 Driver of the Year Award: Mike Papas
Johnstone Construction added vehicle tracking to all vehicles in 2018, allowing for Driver Safety Reports to be uploaded and shared company-wide to encourage safe and economical driving. Mike Papas narrowly edged out Jan to claim his second Driver of the Year Title. The award reflects Mikes's positive driving qualities, particularly around his ability to monitor his speed and brake safely.
