enhancement of stormwater management capabilities

By utilising the Maskell Fibreglass Tank Systems, the project successfully enhanced flood protection promoted sustainable water management practices, and delivered a cost-effective solution.

Johnstone Construction successfully completed one of their larger stormwater detention projects in Tauranga. This project involved the implementation of the innovative Maskell Fibreglass Tank Systems to effectively manage stormwater runoff and ensure the long-term sustainability of the school's drainage infrastructure.

The Stormwater Detention Project aimed to address the challenges posed by heavy rainfall events that frequently impacted the school's premises, leading to water pooling and potential damage to the school grounds. Johnstone Construction was entrusted with designing and constructing an efficient stormwater detention system that would effectively collect, store, and release excess stormwater in a controlled manner.

Scope of Work:

  1. Project Planning: The project commenced with comprehensive planning and design phases, where Johnstone Construction collaborated closely with the client to assess their requirements, evaluate site conditions, and develop an optimal stormwater management strategy.

  2. Maskell Fibreglass Tank Systems Installation: Johnstone Construction expertly installed the Maskell Fibreglass Tank Systems, taking into account the school's available space and specific stormwater management needs. The tanks were strategically positioned to maximize their storage capacity and ensure efficient stormwater detention.

  3. Integration with Existing Infrastructure: The stormwater detention system was seamlessly integrated with the existing drainage infrastructure at the school. This required careful coordination with other construction activities and the implementation of appropriate connections to ensure smooth water flow and prevent any disruptions during heavy rainfall events.

  4. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Johnstone Construction adhered to the highest industry standards throughout the project, ensuring compliance with local regulations and guidelines for stormwater management. Regular quality checks and inspections were conducted to guarantee the system's functionality, durability, and long-term performance.

The New Brookfield School Stormwater Detention Project exemplifies Johnstone Construction's expertise in providing innovative stormwater management solutions. By utilising the Maskell Fibreglass Tank Systems, the project successfully enhanced flood protection promoted sustainable water management practices, and delivered a cost-effective solution.
